Walking: Converting Steps to Miles
One popular method of activity tracking is step counting and it is estimated that the average adult walks a distance of about 1 mile for every 2,000 to 2,500 steps they take. However, the number of steps you must take per mile depends on how long your stride is! For instance, a hobbit would have to take many more steps than a man or an elf to reach the same distance. So, we encourage you to take these differences into account as you make your calculations.
